Bug in Pre-Sear Monk Quests? - Guild Wars Forums

On Wednesday, my War/Monk did the Blessings of Balthazar quest and received Retribution and Symbol of Wrath (at the start of the quest as normal).

On Thursday, my Elem/Monk did the same, and received no skills. I immediately made a Monk primary and another War/Monk to test, and neither new character received the two skills.

Either they removed those two skills after 1 day of preorder play or one of the recent patches inadvertantly bugged this quest?

I put in a ticket to support (over 24 hours ago) and no response yet. Anyone have any info on this?

Do you think they will retroactively give skills to those players that did the quest?

Or should I stay in pre-sear cuz they'll probably ask us to do quest again when they fix it?

i think i figured out how to get that quest to work right, though if you already completed it you're out of luck. After you get the quest, but before you complete it, talk to mehnlo again. Click the blessings of balthazar quest to get info on it, and you will get the skills. Once you complete the quest, though, you cant ask mehnlo about it anymore, so you cant get the skills. i think you should be able to get those 2 skills from the skill vendor in post-searing ascalon once you move on though.

Yeah, the quest is slightly buggy right now- I'm sure it'll be fixed within the next couple of days, but currently you just have to talk to mhenlo a second time before leaving the abbey to get the skill.

Is it worth starting over (only about 1 day lost) to get those two skills? I am not sure how hard it is to come by skill points later on to get these skills from the trainer. I would like to eventually get all approximately 140 skills my primary and secondary can receive...

Won't we be able to buy any missing skills from the skill sellers in post-searing Ascalon City? I've heard that the skill sellers now have (just) the skills from the previous stage of the game available to buy. So even if players missed some pre-searing trainers, they can still buy the skills after Academy?
